Bong Bong Marcos

Having been a public servant since 1980, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has held several positions in both the legislative and executive branches of government : as a Senator (6 years), Congressman (6 years), Governor (12 years) and Vice-Governor (3 years).

Here’s the list of government positions that BBM occupied through the years:

  • 2010-2016: Senator of the Philippines
  • 2007-2010: Congressman, Ilocos Norte (2nd District)
  • 1998-2007: Governor, Ilocos Norte
  • 1983-1986: Governor, Ilocos Norte
  • 1980-1983: Vice-Governor, Ilocos Norte

  • BBM’s brand of governance is defined by forward thinking policies

As a legislator, BBM authored landmark laws such as the Philippine Archipelagic Baselines Law (R.A. 9522). With the ongoing international disputes, this crucial piece of legislation defines what constitutes the Philippine territorial sea.

When he was a Governor, BBM transformed Ilocos Norte into a first-class province by capitalizing on the strengths of the land and its people. He looked for new and modern opportunities to develop the province and pursued these to the end.

Despite its dry landscape, BBM modernized both the agricultural and tourism landscape in Ilocos Norte. Under his watch, the province became both an agricultural exporter and tourism hotspot.
